CL Corporate Sponsors 2015

We simply could not deliver the kind of excellence and quality that we demand without the support of our corporate sponsors. Their contribution affords us an opportunity to offer high quality events without breaking the bank for our members. We strive to build corporate relationships that share our commitment to empowering and supporting women who love women. Many thanks to our 2015 Corporate Sponsors.

Exquisite Living Vacations is a premier travel agency developed by Stephanie Downer RN, BSN, and her wife Alicia.  Travel is tremendously fun but spending quality time together brought many stares and a disengagement of public displays of affection.  My wife and I began to educate ourselves in gay friendly destinations where we can be ourselves.  We decided we wanted to help the LGBT community feel as comfortable as we do now when we travel.  We specialize in alternative lifestyle, adult only destinations for those who seek carefree environments.  Choose Exquisite Living for your ultimate destinations, cruising, air, hotel, and tour needs.  We can also help you plan your special wedding at LGBT friendly states, islands, and countries around the world.  Live free and choose Exquisite Living Vacations, because you deserve to live.

302-376-8383 was birthed from the love and passion of women’s footwear by Wendy Smith.  Wendy’s passion for women’s shoes ignited early on in childhood. Her fascination for stilettos often led her to playing dress up as a child. Wendy launched Joln’a Shoes (named after her big sister) in 2003.  She held shoe parties for friends and church members. The company grew through word of mouth. As the years progressed so did the company and it’s concepts, giving birth to The world wide web changed things slightly. The parties were and still are a hit but in this world of technology people began requiring a website, not just an informational website but a site where shoes could be purchased. While the shoe parties are still a hit, the company also hosts footwear trunk shows with area boutiques, salons, and event centers. What makes different is that a portion of proceeds from every shoe sold is donated to a not for profit organization.

While you have been waiting for your wedding to come, your day has been waiting for you. Your wedding is an event that comes once in a lifetime; so, it should be celebrated!
I am the CEO of We Have Been Waiting Wedding Services, a former Army soldier, and an ordained minister. My leading roles in this production of my life include mother, wife, life coach, lesbian, and philanthropist.

I became an ordained minister in August 2009 in Boston, MA; and, I began performing wedding ceremonies in January 2010. When I first began performing ceremonies, less than 10% of the states allowed same-sex marriage.  As the marriage equality fight began to grow, I watched as each state lifted their same-sex marriage bans. In May 2014, I was newly engaged and decided it was time to relocate back home to Oklahoma City. While I loved coming home with my family, I really missed working with couples in planning their ceremonies, preparing for their newly married lives, and just offering encouragement during those trying moments all couples have.

On October 6, the Oklahoma same-sex marriage ban was lifted and I remember the rush of emotions that I felt as I heard my fiancĂ© say those words "It is legal. Let's get married. We have been waiting for this.” Even though we were engaged, my wife didn't want to get married until it would be legal in our home state. I thought to myself, yes, we have been waiting. That is how the idea of We Have Been Waiting Officiant Services was born.

My focus at We Have Been Waiting Officiant Services is to help you design a ceremony as unique as your relationship.  Your vows are the most important part of your entire wedding; and, I want to help you to find your voice as a couple.

My ultimate goal is to help couples create solid foundations beyond the wedding because weddings are a date; but marriages are a lifetime.

It is those in the LGBT community that find refuge in the events that bring same-gender loving people together in peace.  CJ has also served as a Student Advisor at Clark Atlanta University for the IAME Student Organization which was created to establish “Safe Zones” for LGBT students and straight alliances within the Atlanta University Center. CJ discovered the love of God at a young age.  Her second father, Rev. Dr. Byron Grayson reinforced her religious beliefs as the pastor of St. Jude A.M.E Church.  Her family affirmed her worth and value in the world and it is her life mission to do the same for other LGBT people, especially youth. She is able to have a profound impact within the community as a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, an ordained Deacon of the Gospel for the last 5 years, the Director of the Children’s Usher Board, and the Chaplin of the Adult Usher Board. She was appointed Chairman of The Deacons Board in January of 2015.

CJ strives to encourage others especially young people.  To make a positive difference in a young person’s life is a great success.  CJ motto is “Don’t wait for things to change…be the difference that makes the change.”

Loving the life I the life I love!

Empowered Squared was founded by Professional Speaker, Empowerment Coach and Author, Imani Evans.  Empowered Squared offers Imani’s coaching clients a gateway to her innovative Barrier Breakthrough Experience ™ that has to the power to change your life!
The Barrier Breakthrough Experience ™ is a compelling and effective coaching system, developed by Imani Evans via more than 24 years in the personal empowerment industry. Through years of working with people who were struggling in various dis-empowering circumstances (addictions, homelessness, anger/rage, abuse, trauma, fear, cancer, depression and more), she saw a common thread in the barriers that kept them stuck in lack and limitation, regardless of the form of dis-ease, or dis-comfort in which it manifested. Her BBE system exposes and unravels those barriers, so that her clients can break-free of whatever is holding them back.
There are things that hold you back and keep you stuck in a mind-numbing cycle of wanting, but never manifesting. You will recognize it as that place of being "close, but not quite". To say it is frustrating is an understatement. Right? Well, the BBE is designed to get you over that hurdle with solid tools that work... when you work them! There are visionaries on the precipice of living the dream, but can't seem to make it happen. There are artists and creatives who visualize a life of creating for a living, but are stuck in a rut of sacrifice with no results. There are entrepreneurs who are ready to give their gift to the world and step out on faith, but never do so because fear is paralyzing them into inaction and under-functioning.
If this sounds like YOU...It is time for a Breakthrough!
